Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for New Pet Wellness Emergency and Referral Hospital in Marion

Marion, IL—Pet Wellness Center, a small business subsidiary of Greater Vision Veterinary Care, is proud to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for its new location at “The Woodlands” off of Meadowlands Parkway across from the Williamson County Airport. Dr. Craig Smith, practice owner and senior veterinarian, is committed to providing a high-level of veterinary care and job opportunities to the communities surrounding Southern Illinois.
 
The new 17,000 square-foot facility will offer small animal veterinary services including routine vaccinations and wellness examinations, spay and neuter surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, 24-hour emergency care, high-end diagnostic care such as a full in house laboratory, digital radiology, digital dental radiology, ultrasonography, CT scans, and much more. Furthermore, the facility will house an upscale luxury boarding facility, dog park, and full-time grooming salon, in addition to providing daycare services for those with busy work schedules.
 
Pet Wellness Emergency & Referral Hospital will offer approximately forty-fifty job opportunities for the Southern Illinois community. The goal is to provide a family-like atmosphere in which they foster growth and promotional opportunities within the company structure. Additionally, they are proud to be a member of the local chamber office. As a small business, they believe it is their duty to participate and be an active member of the community. They encourage their employees to get involved with their respective communities throughout Southern Illinois. Whether it be serving on the fair board, judging 4H shows, or participating in youth programs such as Williamson County CEO, community service is a vital part of their business structure.
 
The anticipated completion date for Pet Wellness Emergency & Referral Hospital (Phase I) is the summer of 2017. A formal ribbon cutting ceremony, open house, and hospital tours will be offered once the new facility is completed. To help with a smooth transition and offer the best care possible, applications are currently being accepted for veterinarians, veterinary technicians, receptionists, and kennel staff.
 
As they near the completion of Phase I for the new veterinary hospital, they will be excited to announce the plans and development for Phase II and Phase III on Woodland Drive. Dr. Smith utilized Morton designBUILD, a team of experienced construction professionals that works with customers, from concept to completion, to create custom multi-use and commercial buildings, for the design and construction of the new facility.
