Business After Hours Program held at Volkswagen of Marion on 1/21

Volkswagen of Marion hosted a Business After Hours on Thursday, January 21 from 4:30-7. The event featured appetizers, beverages and entertainment.

During the event Mayor Robert Butler drew the winning ticket for the Keys for Kids Program. 903 tickets were sold for $100 each for a chance to win either a 2016 Honda Accord or a 2016 Volkswagen Passat. The vehicles were donated by the Marion Chamber of Commerce's Business/Industry of 2015, Ike Family Dealerships. The money raised from the Keys for Kids Program went to The Night's Shield Children's Shelter. The Night’s Shield Children’s Shelter is a private, non-profit organization that provides twenty-four hour emergency shelter for abused, neglected and/or abandoned children from the entire state. The money they received from the Keys for Kids Program will be used to buy a new generator as well as clothing and supplies for the children who live there.

The winner of the Keys for Kids drawing was Darlene King of Marion. Her son, David Hays, purchased the ticket for her as a Christmas present. Darlene chose to keep the 2016 Honda Accord.

Business After Hours Programs are held on the fourth Thursday of every month unless the sponsor has a special need for a different date.
