Team Peoria Special Olympic Athletes and Coaches Selected to be on Special Olympics TeamTeam Peoria is excited to join the USA Softball team to play in the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles. The athletes are Casey Bagley, Marino Cuen, Daulton Diguardi, Josh Rogers and Vanessa Robles and the Coaches are Amy Remfrey and Paula Considine. There is a large amount of money each athlete and coach is responsible for raising. The next fundraising event is taking place at McDonald’s at 91st and Olive avenues from 4-7 p.m. and 15 percent of the total sales and 100 percent of the apple pie sales for the designated time frame go directly to the world game athletes. City of Peoria Offices Closed for Veteran's DayCity offices will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day. For all households whose scheduled garbage and recycling falls on the holiday pick up will be Wednesday, Nov. 12. The collection on Thursday and Friday will have no impact.
