A National Child-Protection Awareness Trek
Description
From May 1 through May 30, 2026, Jeff will be embarking on a 1,952-mile National Child-Protection Awareness Trek across the United States. The trek will begin in Rancho Cucamonga, California, travel along major transportation corridors including Route 66, I-15, and I-70, and concluding in Terre Haute, Indiana.
This journey exists to bring visibility, accountability, and honest conversation to the realities of child exploitation, trafficking, and abuse, especially in communities where these crimes too often go unseen, unreported, or ignored. This is a law-enforcement and veteran-led mission, grounded in real-world experience. It is not political, not performative, and not awareness for awareness’ sake. It is a public stand for the protection of children and a reminder that safeguarding the innocent is a responsibility shared by all of us.
An important part of this mission includes direct engagement with Native communities and tribal leadership. Native children experience disproportionately high rates of abuse and exploitation, yet these cases frequently lack visibility, resources, and sustained advocacy. Throughout the 30-day trek, the journey will be documented daily through social media, interviews, and community engagement—allowing the message to reach far beyond the miles traveled.
