Albuquerque, NM: The Hispano Philanthropic Society (HPS) invites the community to its 4th Annual Mujeres Poderosas event, an inspiring evening honoring the leadership, resilience, and transformative impact of Hispanic and Latina women across New Mexico.

This year’s theme, “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future,” highlights the vision and influence of women who are advancing business, public service, and healthcare in our state. The event will feature three distinguished guest speakers:

• Melanie Velasquez, Market President, New Mexico, UMB Bank
• The Honorable Susana Martinez, Former Governor, State of New Mexico
• Lillian Montoya, SVP, New Mexico Market, CHRISTUS Health

Together, these leaders represent strength in finance, public leadership, and healthcare—industries that shape the future of our communities every day.
This annual celebration shines a spotlight on the extraordinary contributions of Hispanic and Latina women in our community and throughout the state. Attendees will hear powerful stories, gain insight from lived experiences, and connect with fellow leaders who are committed to strengthening and uplifting New Mexico.
“We created Mujeres Poderosas to celebrate the women who move our communities forward,” said event organizers. “This evening is about honoring heritage, building connection, and amplifying leadership that inspires the next generation.”
