‘TO GO OR NOT TO GO?’

A weary 80-year-old titan, Winston Churchill returns to his wartime bunker to make the decision whether or not to quit as Prime Minister. Most everybody wants him to go, but as Churchill notes: ‘They’ve all been wrong before!’ To find his answer, Churchill digs back in his amazing life, the characters he has known and astonishing experiences he has had, with wit, wisdom, and iconic wartime speeches.

British-born Andrew Edlin has lived in Fairfield for 30 years. The play took 3 years of research, many drafts, workshopping, a living process that continues. Now in his 25th year of performance, Edlin is undoubtedly the most experienced actor in the world at playing the charismatic British statesman, ‘the ‘Man who Won the War.’

Performed once more in his adopted hometown this September, Edlin kicks off his silver anniversary tour with a free performance at Fairfield Arts & Convention Center. (Freewill donation requested; all proceeds benefit the Center.)

Be in the room to hear this legendary performer deliver these iconic moments from Churchill’s colorful reign:

“If Hitler had invaded Hell, I would have at least made a favorable reference to the Devil in the House of Commons.”

“An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.”

“Never in the field of human conflict has so much been owed by so many to so few.”

“You can always trust America to do the right thing—after they have exhausted all other possibilities.”

But those are Churchill’s words. Here’s what others are saying about Edlin’s incredible tribute:

“Edlin is in perfect control of his character. He is stubborn. He is aroused. He is loving. He is sad. He is irritated. He sobs. He jokes. He is regretful. He is proud. He is Churchill.”

“The acting was so good within a minute I had forgotten it wasn’t the man himself.”

“[We] roared with laughter at the funny stories.”

“Edlin has Churchill down pat… his delivery was spot on… delivered it to a full roar from an appreciative house.”

“A marvelous show. From start to finish, our audience was hanging on every word. Every line, delivered perfectly by Mr. Edlin, was an insight into history and into the remarkable man who was Winston Churchill. There was laughter, tears, and moments of thoughtful silence as the esteemed British statesman graced our stage.”

Don’t miss the return performance of this incredible show, back again under our roof for one night only!
