In this final Leadershift lesson, Rudy will discuss how a calling transcends the limits of a career, how a calling draws leaders towards something bigger, something more. A calling, to paraphrase Aristotle, is “where your talents and the needs of the world cross.”
A calling is lived over the course of your life; it is not satisfied in a single day, or even a month, or even a year. A leader with a calling is a leader committed to living his or her life in service to finding out how they can make a difference in the world. If that resonates with you, you might be called. If not, you can still make a difference by serving alongside someone else in service to their calling.
The world is vast, and the need for teammates and partners is great. No matter where you find yourself, you have one life with which to make an impact on the world. One life. Live it well and the calling will take care of itself.
