Description
Cedar Valley Rocks and Minerals Society, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was organized for the purpose of studying the sciences of mineralogy, geology, and paleontology and the arts of lapidary and gemology. The club draws members from the greater Cedar Rapids-Iowa City area as well as from across Iowa, surrounding states, and a few distant states.

The 2021 Rock & Mineral Show has been postponed from March to November, due to COVID-19 concerns.
Join us November 6-7, 2021.
2021 Through 2023 Shows
Cedar Valley Rocks & Minerals Society holds an annual show the fourth weekend of March*.
*The 2021 Show will be held November 6th-7th, 2021.
The 2022 Show will be held March 26th-27th, 2022.
The 2023 Show will be held March 24th-25th, 2023.
All Shows are scheduled to be held at Hawkeye Downs, Cedar Rapids.
Hours are 8:30am to 6:00pm on Saturday; 9:30am to 4:00pm on Sunday
- The show includes exhibits, demonstrations, dealers, programs and children's activities.
- Children's Activities include: Making fossil footprint casts, hunting for rocks in our famous pebble pit, and sluicing for minerals at the Gem Flume.
- Other Features: a fluorescent display, special programs, special exhibits of rocks, fossils and gems
- Admission is $3 donation for adults; $1 for students 12-18, and Free for under 12
- Youth Groups with Leader are Free
