Community Violence Intervention Center

Community Violence Intervention Center (CVIC) is a pioneering non-profit organization based in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Since 1980, we have been at the forefront of regional violence intervention efforts, employing a bold and comprehensive approach to disrupt cultural norms and put an end to violence within two generations.

Our mission is to deliver vital safety and healing services to adults and children who have experienced trauma, while also educating youth and professionals on how to prevent violence and cultivate healthy relationships. We firmly believe that violence is predictable, but also preventable, and through our alliance of collaborative partners and donors, we are working tirelessly to create a safer tomorrow for those at the greatest risk of school failure, addictions, and suicide.

At CVIC, we provide support for survivors and victims impacted by violence at all levels. Our range of services includes shelter, advocacy, therapy, self-sufficiency programs, intervention initiatives, and prevention programs that are actively changing the trajectory of our community. Over the years, we have served tens of thousands of individuals who have been affected by violence.

We take great pride in our innovative model of collaboration which has been recognized nationally as a best practice in violence intervention. With a team of over 80 dedicated professionals who specialize in serving victims, survivors, and those involved in personal relationship violence; CVIC continues to lead the way in providing essential support for those impacted by trauma.
