HIGH DESERT ENGINEERING, LLC is a multi-disciplined civil engineering and land surveying firm located in Elko, Nevada. The firm was originally founded by Alan S. Boyack in 1972 and operated under the name Boyack Surveying. In 1987 Boyack Surveying was acquired by Robert E. Morley and Duane V. Merrill and operated as Boyack Surveying until 1990 when Thomas C. Ballew joined the firm. The name of the company was changed at that time to HIGH DESERT ENGINEERING. In 2006, the name of the company was changed to HIGH DESERT ENGINEERING, LLC
The principals of the firm offer our clients over 150 years of combined experience in the fields of civil engineering and surveying. Mr. Morley, Mr. Merrill, and Mr. Ballew are currently licensed to practice land surveying and water right surveying in Nevada. Mr. Ballew is licensed to practice civil engineering in Nevada and Utah. In addition to the three principals in the firm, HIGH DESERT employs one survey/engineering technician and an office manager.
HIGH DESERT provides civil engineering design, construction engineering, and construction surveying for a wide variety of projects in northeastern Nevada including road and highway construction, subdivision development, commercial development, and installation of underground utilities. In addition, HIGH DESERT provides land surveying and water right surveying.
HIGH DESERT currently acts as the County Surveyor for Lander County, Nevada. Mr. Robert Morley, a partner in High Desert Engineering, has acted in this capacity since 1995. In this capacity, we have performed reviews of all development plans and plans and have provided surveying support for county planning and development projects.
