Burley, established in 1905, boasts a rich history tied to the Oregon Trail migration era. Situated alongside the meandering Snake River and nestled beneath towering mountains, it has served as a pivotal location for centuries. Burley is notably intersected by the Oregon and California Trails, along with more than thirty other pioneer routes. Functioning as the county seat of Cassia County, parts of Burley also extend into Minidoka County.

The Region

In terms of demographics, Cassia County houses over 23,000 residents, while Minidoka County accommodates more than 20,000. Burley serves as the primary commercial hub for both counties, with a significant portion of their populations residing nearby.

The Outdoors

Burley offers abundant outdoor activities throughout the year. During summer, the scenic Snake River attracts boaters and enthusiasts of personal watercraft, as well as anglers drawn to its trout and bass fishing. The surrounding mountains provide extensive trails for mountain biking and hiking, alongside pristine lakes and secluded hot springs. Nearby, the City of Rocks is renowned for world-class rock climbing, complemented by available camping facilities. In winter, Pomerelle Ski Resort features 24 exceptional ski runs, while there are numerous opportunities for snowmobiling and four-wheeling getaways in the area.
