Artist statement;
What excites me about my work is bringing an image up to its full potential in a wall portrait.
When we live with a portrait everyday in our home it becomes a lasting personal connection.
I have been so blessed to find my career at an early age and to still find it exciting and
rewarding today. Although I have changed from shooting my subjects with Hasselblad film
cameras to digital Nikons, the elements of good portraiture remain the same in the digital age.
When invited to judge photography by my peers I'm still looking for emotional impact and
command of portrait lightings.
I'm inspired by beautiful lightings, good photographic execution and whether my subject(s) are
children, a family, dogs or a high school senior, they are in front of my camera because someone loves them.
