Northern Valley Youth Orchestras
Welcome to Northern Valley Youth Orchestras, based in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
NVYO: inspiring musicians, engaging communities.
The Northern Valley Youth Orchestras program offers young string, wind, brass, and percussion musicians the opportunity to stretch and challenge themselves in a supportive setting. Dynamic and accomplished conductors and educators, and demanding but exciting music make for a stimulating, educational experience.
The orchestras and chamber music ensembles of NVYO present varied concerts of great music both old and new. NVYO has three orchestras, a chamber music program, and a summer day camp, for all levels of advancing musicians up to age 21. Performance opportunities include formal concerts, informal community outreach opportunities, and collaborations with other area arts organizations.
Mission
1. The purpose of NVYO shall be to provide an exceptional musical education experience to the members of the orchestras and chamber music programs and to provide artistic performances that enrich the lives of developing musicians, our communities, and our region.
