THE WOMENS CENTER OF JACKSONVILLE is a nonprofit, Jacksonville-based organization offering advocacy, support and education to women in Northeast Florida. The Women's Center of Jacksonville is the only certified rape crisis center for Duval, Baker and Nassau Counties, and rape recovery services are available to individuals of all genders and their families.
The Womens Center of Jacksonville offers no cost or affordable mental health counseling; adult and family literacy; breast cancer support and education; and information and referral assistance.
Whether youre facing health, personal, domestic, or other issues, the Womens Center of Jacksonville offers a variety of programs to help you manage the tough times. From our Bosom Buddies program offering support and education to breast cancer survivors to our Expanded Horizons education program preparing women for their GED or teaching them English as a Second Language, we strive to help you achieve your dreams through our support services.
Expanded Horizons is a gender-specific educational program designed to meet the needs of women through trained volunteer tutors, paid instructors, and ancillary support services. The program includes transportation assistance, childrens services, and life skills small groups.
A family literacy advocate provides case management to assist with removing barriers to reaching goals. Participants have access through cross referrals to the comprehensive, wrap around services of the Womens Center.
We provide a variety of information and resources to women affected by breast cancer including free educational materials, mastectomy bras, wigs and prostheses at no charge. Additionally, Bosom Buddies provides information and referrals to uninsured or under-insured women needing breast health care in the Jacksonville area.
