Richard Davis (AISSI Founder and President) started in the insurance industry as a part-time producing agent with Walker, Hunter Miller Insurance Agency in 1975 while maintaining his position as Fire Marshall with the Richmond Bureau of Fire. After much success as a producing agent, Richard resigned from his position as Fire Marshall and founded Associated Insurance Systems Services, Inc (AISSI) in 1987.  Richard brought with him, an extensive knowledge of loss control, building inspection and fire prevention techniques from his experience with the City of Richmond.  Richard started AISSI with one local insurance carrier and leveraged that opportunity into appointments with two national insurance companies. The newly acquired appointments allowed Richard to set forth his original vision for an insurance brokerage operation and made it his mission and the mission of AISSI to offer insurance products to the community in which he lived that would be serviced in a manner that was both ethical and educational for the people to whom he provided insurance coverage.  Using this approach, the practice has grown into one of the largest  Minority-Owned Insurance Brokerage Firms in the state of Virginia representing more than 15 regional and national insurance carriers with a staff that boasts more than 70 years of combined experience in the insurance field.  We specialize in personal auto, homeowner, life, health and business insurance, including bond coverage and are MBE and DBE Certified with the Commonwealth of Virginia.  AISSI’s goal is to understand our client's insurance needs in providing the best coverage for the insured.
