In 1997 two friends, Ben Gregersen and John Dundon, joined forces to make old fashioned, flavorful cheeses. Real cheese made only with wholesome milk, enzymes, salt, natural flavors, and hard work: no preservatives, no gums, nothing artificial. Calling their partnership the Sierra Nevada Cheese Company. they began at Ben's father's plant, The Gregersen's Family Creamery in Sacramento. A couple of years ago they moved their creamery to Willows.
"We were among the first to demand that our milk be certified free of growth hormones (rBst), our suppliers must be certified by the National Farmers Organization."
