With the purchase of the International Harvester farm equipment dealership in downtown Denison in 1975, Glen Vetter founded Vetter Equipment Company. Starting with six employees, the business has experienced steady growth, added 10 more strategic locations, survived numerous economic downturns and a couple of recessions, and remains as a dependable partner for local farms, contractors, and our fellow residents.
As the nature of the farm equipment business continues to change due to economic conditions, the consolidation of territories has allowed Vetter Equipment to offer customers improved service through volume purchasing and expanded inventories. As part of this commitment, Vetter Equipment continues to embark on ambitious capital improvement projects for its facilities. Today, the Denison store operates from a state-of-the-art, 55,000 square foot facility. Future plans include the construction of new buildings as well as the expansion and updating of the service, parts, sales and showroom areas at each of our stores. Our goal is to ensure that our facilities are more than adequate to meet the needs of our customers and large enough to accommodate the equipment that we sell. Our Audubon & Onawa locations also include NAPA Auto Parts stores, enabling us to offer customers a diverse array of products and services.
