The City of Lakeland is dedicated to providing outstanding service to its citizens. Lakeland is known as "The City of Murals" for the many unique murals throughout town that depict life in early Lakeland. Over 30 life-size murals have been painted on downtown buildings, depicting citizens and landscapes from photographs circa the 1920s. All the murals are in a five-block radius, so it is easily walked. Plan 1-2 hours to view our murals, take pictures, and eat lunch. This is something to enjoy in a leisurely manner.
