We are a non-profit organization, supported by local citizens who volunteer their time to promote local libraries and literacy.

We raise funds through an ongoing sale of used books, annual memberships, sponsorships and cash donations.  As a non-profit (501(c)(3)) organization all memberships and donations may be tax deductible by contributors.

WHAT IS IT THE FRIENDS DO?

Sponsor library programs for all age groups

Help sponsor the summer reading program for children

Coordinate and judge an annual bookmark contest for middle school students

Coordinate and approve annual school library grants

Purchase special items for the public libraries

Manage and staff the used book store (Friend's Place) in the lobby of the Surprise Regional Library

Manage collectors display case

Provides the community with a location to recycle books and to buy books inexpensively at Friends Place
