Elko County Fair Board
Home

The Elko County Fair Board would like to take this opportunity to invite newcomers to the Elko community for the 92nd celebration of the Elko County Fair. The Fair tradition has become a part of our heritage; the Fair has something to offer everyone.

The Fair consists of individual departments which include the Home Arts Division, 4-H Livestock Show, Horse Racing, Stock Horse Events, and Nevada Stallion Stakes. There are divisions and events for people of all ages to enjoy.

If you want something a little more sporting? Try coming to the horse races and picking a winner. There are many systems for picking that winner. Some folks pick horses based on color, others follow jockeys, or many study the statistics in the racing program and pick a winner based on previous stats the horses have had. Trying to pick a winner is fun and challenging, especially when you have conviction in your choice and you become a winner yourself! Going to the pay window to pick up your winnings is exhilarating and rewarding for all.

Whether you have come to the Elko County Fair in any of the previous 91 years or not, we hope to see you this year!!

History

The first Elko County Fair was held in 1920. The Fair has been held continuously since then, with the exception of two years where it was canceled for livestock health and funding issues.

Future Goals

Our goal each and every year is to make the Elko County Fair a success. As always the success of the Fair depends on the support of the communities within Elko County, our local businesses, the commercial vendors who may live outside the county but choose to attend the Fair, and those people who volunteer their time to help in any area that help is needed. YOU make it happen. On behalf of the Elko County Fair Board, a GREAT BIG THANKS!!!
