Luby Equipment Services was founded in 1977 by Bob Luby, which was chartered as Machine Maintenance and Equipment Company. Luby's experience was with the local Caterpillar dealer in an entry level position, eventually moving into equipment sales. Machine Maintenance and Equipment Company was renamed MMECO and began by maintaining and repairing heavy industrial equipment. MMECO's first products as an authorized dealer were Gardner-Denver compressors and related products. We supported these products with parts inventory and shop and field service support.

As Luby's background and experience was primarily heavy equipment distribution, MMECO eventually became a dealer for Ingersoll-Rand water well drills, down hole hammers and bits, and high-pressure compressors. This relationship eventually led to the initiation of our Oil Field Services Division, which is currently headquartered in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

Today, Luby Equipment Services supplies the oil and gas drilling activity in Arkansas and Oklahoma, with hammer and tool rentals and bits, along with high-pressure compressor and booster rental and other related oilfield products.

Meanwhile, our Construction Equipment Division, currently headquartered in Fenton, Missouri, had evolved into a major force in construction equipment distribution. In 1989, Luby grew by acquisition and purchased the assets of Bi-State Machinery Company, the Fiatallis dealer. This acquisition put Luby in the heavy construction equipment distribution business. In 1992, Luby acquired the assets of Case Power and Equipment and became the dealer for Case construction equipment in the St. Louis and Cape Girardeau markets. Luby later acquired E.M. Chatten Company, the Case dealer in Quincy, Illinois. Luby eventually established branch locations in O'Fallon, Missouri, and Caseyville, Illinois, with the full line of products. Luby's most recent acquisition was the Case dealer in Springfield, Illinois, where we also have a full line of products.

Today, Luby sells, rents and provides service for the full line of Case construction equipment products. Our other product brands are Doosan excavators and wheel loaders, Takeuchi mini-excavators and compact track loaders. Luby also represents other lines of heavy equipment products, such as Dynapac compaction products, Astec trenching equipment and GME trench protection equipment. All of the above products are available for rent with an option to purchase. Luby also supplies Oshkosh trucks with brooms or blowers to all airports in the central Midwest, supporting this equipment with a full complement of parts and factory-trained service technicians.

In 2005, Luby Equipment Services teamed up with Generac Standby Power Systems to become a full-line dealer. As the fastest growing segment, Luby formed the Industrial Division to provide Generac products, offering parts, service and preventive maintenance contracts to a full range of customers from the homeowner to the largest wireless cell phone providers. Luby has been successful in providing service contracts for many of the major commercial and industrial stand-by power generators in our area of responsibilities.
