John H. Kinzie Elementary School is a neighborhood school in Chicago, Illinois, serving students from preschool through 8th grade. It is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School for grades 6-8, committed to high-quality, challenging, and international education. The school aims to develop students into thinkers, knowledgeable, and reflective individuals through collaborative and rigorous learning experiences. Kinzie Elementary also offers a special program for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, providing educational services using a Total Communication approach for ages 3-14. Additionally, the school has a Bilingual Program for English Learners, offering instruction within a Transitional Bilingual Education (TBE) model for Spanish-speaking students and a Transitional Program of Instruction (TPI) for students from various language backgrounds. The school provides accelerated math/science instruction and Algebra for eighth-grade students.
