New Mexico Pharmacists Association

The New Mexico Pharmacists Association (NMPhA) is dedicated to serving the needs of pharmacists and patients throughout the state of New Mexico. As a non-profit organization, NMPhA represents professionals from all pharmacy practice settings, with the majority of its members being registered pharmacists licensed in New Mexico. These member pharmacists work in a variety of settings, including retail pharmacies (both independent and chain), home care, hospitals, long-term care facilities, nuclear pharmacies, mail-order pharmacies, and research. Additionally, NMPhA includes members representing pharmaceutical manufacturers, academia, government agencies, and pharmacy technicians.

In 2002, the New Mexico Pharmaceutical Care Foundation (NMPCF) was established as a nonprofit charitable organization (501c3). The foundation focuses on pharmacy-related patient and provider education activities and provides patient medication reviews and medication-related screenings at various events around New Mexico. NMPCF also maintains a strong relationship with the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy and supports students through a no-interest student loan fund and financial assistance for other activities.

The experienced staff at NMPhA is well-versed in association management and issues affecting the pharmacy profession. Their primary concern is responsiveness to member needs. The staff actively participates in recognized state and national associations relevant to their interests.

Overall, NMPhA is committed to advocating for the professional interests of pharmacists while also promoting optimal patient care outcomes. Through its various initiatives and partnerships with other organizations such as NMPCF and the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy, NMPhA continues to support the advancement of pharmacy practice in New Mexico.
