Juab County
Juab County, located in Utah, has a rich history dating back to its formation in 1852. Originally encompassing portions of what is now Nevada, the county's size was reduced in 1854 and 1856 before finally settling on its current borders. The first significant settlement in Juab County occurred in 1851 when Mormon pioneers established Nephi, relying primarily on agriculture for their livelihoods.
In 1869, the Tintic region of Juab County became the site of a major discovery of silver, gold, copper, and other precious metals. This led to a mining boom with the emergence of towns such as Diamond, Silver City, and Eureka. By 1899, the Tintic region was considered one of the richest mining districts in the entire nation. Mining operations continued into the mid-1900s before gradually scaling down throughout the rest of the century.
Today, Juab County is known for its diverse economy which includes agriculture, mining, and manufacturing. The county boasts stunning natural landscapes and outdoor recreational opportunities that attract visitors from near and far.
