Cobb and Douglas Public Health

Since 1920, Cobb & Douglas Public Health and the Georgia Department of Public Health have been committed to the mission of “Healthier Lives. Healthier Community.”  We are dedicated to improving our residents’ quality of life by tracking and preventing the spread of disease, promoting health and safety, providing exceptional medical services, and ensuring that our community is prepared for public health emergencies.

At Cobb & Douglas Public Health, we work diligently to protect the health of those who live, work, and play within our community. We also acknowledge that racial and social injustice sets us back on our path to fulfilling our vision of Healthier Lives and a Healthier Community. Therefore, we actively endorse diversity, equity, and inclusion. We must serve diverse communities and embrace the variations that shape our identities—such as gender, religion, sexuality, nationality, political ideology, socioeconomic status, and other experiences.

We are committed to providing staff with ongoing cultural competency training, maintaining an internal health equity committee, and strategizing how we can positively impact our employees and the community.
