Hope United Methodist Church
Hope United Methodist Church from Bullhead City, Arizona, upholds the belief in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. The church also believes in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son and our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day, he rose again; he ascended into heaven and was seated at the right hand of the Father. It is believed that he will come again to judge the living and the dead. The church also affirms its belief in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
Hope United Methodist Church holds historic Christian orthodoxy as well as one of the earliest and most universally accepted Christian creeds. The community engages in theological dialogue with both past and present teachings while seeking to understand and respond faithfully to the gospel in its current time.
The Apostles’ Creed serves as a summary of Hope United Methodist Church's doctrinal commitments. However, it is emphasized that simply reading these beliefs off a page does not fully capture their essence. Instead, it is through observation and participation within this faith community that one can truly understand its beliefs.
The church strives to create a dynamic faith rather than a static brand-name church. It aims to be a community where people seek to follow Jesus in faith and freedom.
In conclusion, Hope United Methodist Church stands firm in its beliefs while remaining open to ongoing theological exploration and growth within its community.
