Casey In Action

Casey in Action NFP, a grassroots volunteer group, is dedicated to practicing “strategic doing” to implement specific actions that positively shape the future of Casey, Illinois. Formed in 2009 and designated a 501c3 in May 2010, the group has spearheaded a number of community improvement efforts.

WHAT IS CASEY IN ACTION?

Casey In Action is a group of residents and former residents interested in keeping the community of Casey healthy now and into the future. We welcome participation from anyone with a commitment to help Casey.

The group is based on discussions begun in 2009 in the Facebook group, ‘Casey In Action’ and by email. From there the conversation quickly continued to in-person meetings to discuss a process of creating an open people network and engaging in focused discussion to get specific actions done for Casey. We then prioritized the ideas into a list of action items and got started!

WHAT IS OUR PURPOSE?

Identify community needs, provide materials and funds for community improvement projects by fundraising, and to organize volunteer opportunities to accomplish these projects.

ABOUT CASEY IN ACTION.

• Casey in Action is an organized group of volunteers with a five-person Board of Directors.

• Casey in Action is a Federal 501(c) (3) public charity since May of 2010.

• 100% of all contributions by fundraising or donation in support of Casey in Action go toward our community projects and to cover required operating expenses (Liability Insurance).

• No Casey in Action board member or active member receives a stipend for their efforts.

• Only authorized purchases of materials are reimbursed to members with a receipt.
