Clackamas Fire
Clackamas Fire District #1 is a leading fire protection district in Oregon, serving nearly 220,000 residents across 228 square miles. Operating from 22 fire stations, our team of career and volunteer firefighters responds to tens of thousands of incidents annually, providing fire protection and emergency medical services to a diverse range of communities. Our district encompasses the cities of Happy Valley, Johnson City, Milwaukie, and Oregon City, as well as a variety of unincorporated areas, ensuring comprehensive safety and emergency response coverage. To ensure we meet current and future service demands, we maintain a detailed Standards of Cover (SOC) document.
Our history dates back to the 1930s when Oregon's Rural Fire Protection Districts were first established. Since then, we have expanded through strategic mergers, including those with Happy Valley, Clackamas, and Boring Fire Districts, among others. These mergers, along with intergovernmental agreements with Sandy and Gladstone, have enabled us to enhance our operations, improve response times, and invest in new equipment to meet the needs of our growing district. Our commitment to public safety and operational excellence has earned us recognition as an Internationally Accredited Organization, and we are dedicated to continuing this legacy of outstanding service to our communities.
