Women's Health Coalition Of Arizona
The Women’s Health Coalition of Arizona (WHC) was established in 2006 under the visionary leadership of Lonnie Jones, with a commitment to addressing the disparities in accessing community services faced by the burgeoning population of racial and ethnic minority groups in Arizona. Initially formed by a dedicated group of community members and providers, WHC operates as a grassroots organization, driven by a passion for fostering positive change. Our headquarters is located at 625 2nd Ave. SW (Hwy 9) Cresco IA 52136, serves as the epicenter for our efforts to bridge gaps and create meaningful partnerships.
At WHC, we catalyze transformative change, forging partnerships across community groups, non-profit organizations, professional associations, businesses, and government agencies. Our diverse range of services includes outreach, health education, focus group facilitation and recruitment, community asset mapping, and health event management. We believe in building healthy communities, one at a time, and work tirelessly to strengthen the social fabric of Arizona.
Our mission is clear—to promote access to healthcare. We actively identify under-served populations in targeted communities, advocate for adequate and appropriate services, and empower communities to become active participants in their healthcare journey. WHC of Arizona focuses on raising public awareness about the fundamental components of accessing health care, nutrition, and wellness. Through the implementation of the Promotoras Model, our outreach efforts are streamlined, effectively reaching People of Color and educating them about crucial health-related issues. WHC is dedicated to assisting low-income and underserved women and their families, ensuring they have access to preventative healthcare services that they might otherwise miss out on. Join us in our commitment to creating a healthier, more equitable Arizona.
