Kids for Sports Foundation
Kids for Sports Foundation, based in Mesquite, NV, was established in response to the financial challenges many families face in supporting their children's sports endeavors. Founded by Cory and Chad Clemetson, co-owners of Wolf Creek Golf Course, the foundation aims to ensure that every child in the valley has access to organized sports regardless of their family's financial status. Recognizing the myriad benefits sports participation offers, from fostering essential life skills to improving academic performance, the foundation is committed to removing barriers to entry and providing necessary support, including scholarships, equipment, and financial assistance for trips.
Since its inception, the Kids for Sports Foundation has garnered significant support from both the community and local businesses. The foundation's launch during the Mesquite Economic Business Preview saw generous donations from prominent individuals, including the Clemetsons themselves, as well as Bill and Elaine Hurd, Bob Shively, Anne Hunt, and Greg Lee. This outpouring of support underscores the foundation's potential to unify the community and make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families across the valley.
Moving forward, the Kids for Sports Foundation is actively engaged in the formation of its board and the development of strategic initiatives. Plans are underway to trademark the foundation's name and logo while pursuing 501(c)(3) status, marking important steps in solidifying its presence and impact. With a clear mission to empower youth through sports, the foundation is poised to continue its work in breaking down barriers, fostering inclusion, and building a stronger, more cohesive community for generations to come.
