Back Door Winery
The story revolves around a dry town named Summerland during the prohibition era. Despite strict regulations on alcohol, there were covert operations, and an enterprising orchardist used a peach orchard as a front to hide barrels of wine. Trusted individuals gained entry through a secret knock on the back door, leading to a cellar filled with wine casks. The community voted to remain dry, but clandestine activities persisted until the first licensed liquor store opened in 1953. Presently, Back Door Winery, owned by Jesse Gill, thrives, unlocking the potential of the vineyard's grapes grown on the terrain.
