AmTrust Bank and Ohio Savings Bank are the two most recent additions to a respected banking family that has been serving customers and communities for more than 150 years.
As Divisions of New York Community Bank, AmTrust Bank and Ohio Savings Bank together account for 68 of our 278 branches—25 in southern Florida, 14 in central Arizona, and 29 in northeast Ohio, where AmTrust was established as Ohio Savings Home Loan and Building Co. in 1889. Our franchise in Arizona includes 11 branches of AmTrust Bank acquired in December and three branches of the former Desert Hills Bank that were acquired in March.
For most of its 120 years, Ohio Savings Bank was strictly based in Ohio. In 1989, it expanded to Florida, where the AmTrust Bank name got its start. In 2000, the first AmTrust Bank branch was opened in Arizona. And in 2007, the Ohio Savings Bank name was retired so that all of its branches would operate under the AmTrust Bank name.
In April 2010, the Ohio Savings Bank name was restored to our 29 branches in Ohio, a sign of respect for a bank that served its customers and communities for 120 years. We welcome AmTrust and Ohio Savings Bank to our banking family and look forward to extending its history of strength, stability, and service as a division of New York Community Bank.
