The Opportunity Tree: Empowering Lives Since 1963

For over 60 years, The Opportunity Tree has been at the forefront of providing quality individualized support to people with intellectual & developmental disabilities in dynamic & innovative environment.

Supporting over 250 Members daily at 4 campuses (Maricopa, Phoenix, Casa Grande, Avondale) and 20 community-integrated living homes across 2 counties, The Opportunity Tree is one of Arizona's most deeply rooted and historied 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organizations supporting people with intellectual disabilities. Our person-centered approach, Employment First philosophy, and diverse program offerings promote opportunities for individuals to increase the quality of life on their own terms and realize their full potential beginning at 14 years of age through every life cycle stage.

Our Tree Fort youth afterschool and summer programs provide dynamic experiences and creative environments for teens ages 14 & up. Our SEEDS Employment Services offer our adult Members pathways to competitive integrated employment and our LEAF adult day programs engage our Members in volunteerism, community integration experiences, and independent living skill development. Our Fireslammers Special Olympics delegation counts over 90 Athletes of all ability levels competing in over 8 sports per year. Our Community Living residential and in-home supports provide our Members enriching and stimulating home environments; the bedrock to a high quality of life. We connect over 1000 people with services and programs annually and we've been supporting over 70 of our Members for 30 years or more.
