Mid-Columbia Economic Development District
MCEDD serves a bi-state area composed of three counties in Oregon (Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman) and two counties in Washington (Skamania and Klickitat) bordering the Columbia River. These counties share a common workforce, geography, and economy. Through MCEDD, the communities can leverage their regional needs cohesively, with better access to economic development loans and grants, pooled technical assistance, and a unified approach to the area's economic development needs.
MCEDD was formed in 1969 by its member counties. The organization received federal designation as a District from the US Economic Development Administration in 1970.
