Lonely Oak Distillery was born out of a dream and a promise. A dream to make small-batch craft spirits using grains grown right here, in western Iowa, on the Hoffmann family farm. It's on this generous land that we planted the seeds, harvested the grains, and perfected the recipes for the Heartland's finest spirits. That's our dream.

Our Story

Our passion is great food, fine drinks, and good company. The idea of Lonely Oak Distillery is to share this passion with others. With the support of our friends and family, we are able to bring the Lonely Oak journey to life.

Located in the heart of Shelby County, Iowa, you’ll find an oasis amidst the cornfields. Lonely Oak is a micro-distillery, owned and operated by local producers Pat & Amy Hoffmann. As farmers, we had a vision of our crop. Not only did we want to harvest the grain, but we wanted to make something out of it - something universal. Something unique. Something to celebrate. Something that would bring people together. What brings people together better than spirits?

Our dedication to producing premium spirits is represented in each batch; from tilling the soil, planting the seed, grain selection, distillation, maturation, and finally, bottling.  Craft is everything, and it shows. We are a true seed-to-spirit craft distillery, and one of only a handful across the nation.
