In January of 2017, while I was working for the Forest Service, an idea popped into my head to start my own business. Id been doing National Visitor Use Monitoring surveys for a few months and saw some major needs. This launched the idea and creation of my business. As I put my business idea together, I was learning more and more about the needs of everyone. I also remembered back to when I hiked the Arizona Trail in 2015. I remembered how hard and demanding the trail was and how it was nothing like other thru-hikes, I had done before. While doing the surveys, I met people who wanted to hike different trails but didnt want to do it solo.
All of these different needs created my business concept. In May 2017, I attended a 2-day workshop that helped me mold my business idea and it gave me the tools to put it all together. During this workshop, I learned I had to do something to make my business unique. I pondered about it for a while. I looked back on all my travels and it hit me. I had to make everything personal.
