Sharing abundance--ending hunger now! The Sahuarita Food Bank is open to serve anyone who is struggling to put food on the table at home for the family. We are located at the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ.
Our mission is not only to feed the hungry to meet their immediate needs, but also to break the cycle of poverty. Therefore, we also serve as a community resource center that helps lead individuals and families to self-sufficiency through referrals, workforce development, family support, and health and nutrition programs, with the help of our community partners.
Since 2009, the Sahuarita Food Bank & Community Resource Center (SFB-CRC) has been providing food and other essentials to children, seniors, families and others in Southern Arizona. We provide food to nearly 300 local families each week. In fiscal year 2019, we distributed almost 930,000 pounds of food, enough for 15,000 meals per week.
The Sahuarita Food Bank is an independent and self-governing nonprofit organization led by 200+ dedicated volunteers, including our Board of Directors. Each year, our volunteers contribute more than 22,695 hours of service.
We are supported by financial and in-kind contributions from businesses, faith-based organizations and private donors. Our cooperative and collaborative partnerships with other area food bankssuch as the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona and the Green Valley Food Bankensure that the needs of the community are being met.
