The Museum of Art – DeLand Celebrates 75 Years of Arts & ImpactDELAND, FL: The Museum of Art - DeLand celebrates 75 years of remarkable exhibitions, education, and culturalconnections as it reflects on its growing legacy in Central Florida. Originally established as the DeLand Children's Museum in 1951, the Museum of Art - DeLand adopted its current name in 2013 to represent the broader scope of programming the organization offers. The Museum now serves nearly 80,000 people annually through its community outreach initiatives. Executive Director Martha Underriner says, “As we begin our 75th year, I find my myself returning to one idea: Community. Our Museum started as a learning place for children and has grown and evolved over the decades into what it is today. We are here because people continue to show up – as visitors, members, artists, volunteers, and advocates. This is your museum, and it exists because of you.” Commemorating this special milestone will be a limited-time anniversary logo designed by DeLand artist Erica Group Kiel, whose murals and service have shaped the Central Florida community. She once attended summer camp at the Museum as a child, and today serves as a board member and proud supporter. Underriner says of the choice, “Having Erica design this meaningful brand mark feels like a full-circle moment and a reflection of the relationships that have always defined the Museum of Art - DeLand.” In addition to the anniversary logo, the Museum will mark the occasion with special events and celebrations all year long beginning in early April – to be announced on the Museum's website, www.moartdeland.org. ### About the Museum of Art – Deland: The Museum of Art – DeLand is a vital and interactive visual arts museum dedicated to the collection, preservation, display, and educational use of the fine arts in Central Florida.
