Junior Achievement Adds Shannon Oroz of Credit One Bank to its Board

Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada (JASN) welcomes Shannon Oroz as the A longtime volunteer with the nonprofit organization that teaches students about financial literacy, workforce development and entrepreneurship, she is the assistant vice president at Credit One Bank responsible for mitigating risk for the business and has over 20 years of financial services experience in process improvement, risk and controls.



"Shannon's impressive record of volunteering with Junior Achievement and her decision to instill JA lessons with her own children demonstrates her devotion to the JA mission of teaching youth about the ‘business of life,’” said Michelle Jackson, chief executive officer and president of Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada. “And her background in identifying areas of waste and redundancy and creating processes for improvement will help our board with our budgeting and planning decisions.” 

 

Originally from Southern California, Oroz has a history of dedicated volunteerism, including serving on the executive board for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada (2021-2022) and volunteering with Junior Achievement since 2004, both in Oregon and Las Vegas. Her active Junior Achievement involvement includes teaching JA lessons at schools – even teaching in her children's classes during many of their elementary school years – and participating in events, such as JA BizTown and JA bowl-a-thons.

 

“Thanks to my years of Junior Achievement involvement, both of my children have grown up to be financially savvy and understand the impact of decisions on various aspects of their lives," said Oroz. "I am thrilled about the new JA Inspiration Center being built in Las Vegas and look forward to my new grandson participating in JA curriculum, and particularly JA BizTown, there.”
