18th Carroll County Leadership Institute Graduation

Carroll County Leadership Institute 2018 graduation was held Wednesday, April 18, at Santa Maria Vineyard & Winery.

Shannon Landauer, Chamber of Commerce Executive Director shared her thoughts on leadership with the class.  Landauer creatively utilized well-known song lyrics to convey the importance of leadership and how leadership qualities can be carried into everyday interactions. As one example, she referred to Micheal Jackson’s Man In the Mirror lyrics, “If You Want Make The World A Better Place, Take A Look At Yourself, And Then Make A Change” and referenced Jackson’s nod to a leaders ability to evaluate their own effectiveness, make necessary changes and then march forward to lead others. Other musicians referenced included John Lennon, Rodriguez and even Eminem.

Carroll County Leadership Institute consists of eight sessions held from September through April.    Participants are introduced to issues through panels, lectures, on-site visits and group discussion.   Leadership Skills were presented at each class by past Leadership graduate Megan Boyd. Many different businesses and organizations have benefited from the involvement of Leadership graduates.  This is the 19th class to graduate; bringing the total number of graduates to 387.
