Join Compare Carpets & Hardfloors Inc. as they raise money for Childhood Cancer Research. This is an extremely fun event and supported by many in the community. There will be 5 award winning BBQ's, delicious sides, craft beer and wine, plus $4000 in raffle prizes!

We lose 5 elementary schools of kids every year in the U.S. alone. That's not Rare. Where will the funds go ?
Dr Leo Mascarenhas MD MS Deputy Director, Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases Section Head, CHLA Oncology Attending Physician, Associate Professor Clinical Pediatrics Hematology-Oncology Keck School of Medicine USC has his own Osteosarcoma research project.
From Dr Leo M :
1. We currently have a project to assess circulating tumor DNA, proteomics and metabolomics in osteosarcoma and other sarcoma. These biomarkers will help diagnose and identify patients who relapse before radiology scans and also assess with a blood test, how well their sarcoma is responding. Donations will assist in supporting a research assistant to collect samples from patients, process samples and maintain data logs for this project.
2. We are now conducting research that will allow us to look at single living cancer cells from osteosarcoma and analyzing them to see whether they are aggressive or not and what makes them respond or resist certain treatments. Donations will assist in purchasing a special piece of equipment that can do this efficiently.
Unlike most fundraiser, 100 % of your donation for a BBQ tasting wristband and 100 % of the funds from Raffle and Live Auction will be donated to CHLA ( Children's Hospital Los Angeles ) specifically for Dr Leo's research.
All the BBQ Teams are donating their time and talents. The Norco Pageant Girls are donating all the non-alcoholic beverages.
Son's of Liberty and Compare is donating for Craft Beer. All the raffle items are donated.

Why do we need research ? ?
Pediatric cancers are different in that it affects the Entire Family more so than adult cancers. The childhood cancer community refers to themselves as " The club you don't want to be a part of " Super Siblings ( Brothers and Sisters of #Realsuperheros ) are the unsung hero's and casualties of the childhood cancer world.
Even though the average age of diagnosis for adults is 66y verses 6y for children, the NIC only denotes 4 % of the $5.4 B annual Cancer research budget to kids. Many adult cancers are caused by lifestyle choices, Kids don’t get a chance to make bad choices.
There are approx 15,700 diagnosis each yr in the US and world wide a child is diagnosed every 2 seconds. Cancer is the #1 killer by disease. Cancer kills more kids than all other diseases combined. Only Accidents kills more kids than cancer. Only 3 new drugs have been FDA approved in the past 30 yrs.
We lose 6 kids everyday and 46 new diagnosis in the USA alone. That's 5 elementary schools per yr. That' #Notrare. That's an #Epidemic The Chemo treatments given to our kids are 30 yrs old and cause cancer. 2/3 of survivors will have long lasting chronic conditions from the treatments. Cancer can't be cured with the very thing that causes it. That's like treating alcoholism with vodka, heart disease with cheese, or diabetes with high fructose corn syrup.

DIPG is a type of Brain Cancer with a zero % survival rate. Brain cancer get 1 % which is $51 mil
Neil Armstrongs daughter died of DIPG. Imagine the public reaction if that happened today.
September is Childhood cancer awareness month. Various Building, Bridges, and Monuments #GOGOLD in support. Please follow Tattoo Tom Mitchell #Stillbrave and Tony Stoddard #Sophiafund to stay current with their efforts to #Lightthewhitehousegold, make pediatric cancer a national priority and create awareness of the tremendous lack of research funding.
Sept 2017 was Challenging month for many Americans. Hurricane Harvey killed 68 people and America responded immediately $350 M in Go fund me practically over night. The tragedy in Las Vegas killed 59 people. This happens every 11 days in the pediatric cancer community.
We can do our best to prepare for Natural disasters, Prevent some Accidents and be Vigilant but we can’t stop them all. We can Stop Pediatric cancer with research funding. Immunotherapy has shown tremendous success in adult cancers without the toxic effects of chemo and Radiation.

** Is there a Dress Code ? Yes -- whatever you are most comfortable in. Western attire, business casual, board shorts and flip flops, whatever you like.
** Can I just buy raffle tickets? No. The Raffle is for BBQ Guests only. You must have a Wristband to buy raffle tickets.
** Can I ride my horse to the BBQ ? Sorry No we have no room to tie up.
** Can I bring my Dog ? Service Dogs only please.
