A one-of-a-kind wine tasting event, the 5th Annual Golden Autumn Wine Festival, combines quality wines, pleasant entertainment from the Tu Tones and a soothing country setting on Sunday, September 22 from 11:00-3:30 in the shady apple orchard at Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm in Wheatland. And the venue space has been expanded this year.

If possible, advance ticket holders are asked to arrive near opening and walk-up visitors are asked to arrive after 1:00.

This year, the day includes about a dozen wineries from the region that will be on hand to talk about their wines and to provide complimentary tastings. In addition, seven other specialty businesses will showcase their wine and kitchen related products. Updated listing of participants below.

“Each year, the event is fine-tuned and expanded to provide a classy atmosphere and first-class wine tasting experience,” said Bob Harlan, Executive Director for the Yuba-Sutter-Colusa United Way, which organizes the event.

“As always, Bishop’s generously offsets most of our costs of staging the event and we are honored to have our additional presenting sponsors, Sierra Central Credit Union and Sutter Health joining us this year,” said Harlan.

In addition to wine tasting, pleasant music by the Tu Tones trio will be provided. Tacos and quesadillas will be served for lunch at a nominal cost and Bishops will be showcasing their new wine and beer garden in "The Other Side of the Track" shady apple orchard with several craft beers and hard cider for an additional cost.

As in past years, many of the wineries will be selling bottles and cases to take home.

Parking is FREE that day and all of the rides, features and shops will be open at Bishop’s. As always, there is no entry charge at Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm.

The Golden Autumn Wine Festival runs from 11:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $30.00 per person. Plus, if desired, an additional $5.00 buys a full glass of wine. You can purchase tickets online at yscunitedway.org (click on events tab) or by calling the United Way office weekdays at (530) 743-1847. It is strongly recommended to purchase tickets in advance.
