GardenFest will feature a plant sale of a wide variety of plants. Most of the hundreds of plants are propagated by Master Gardener volunteers, who work throughout the year nurturing and caring for them.  The sale will include native and Florida-Friendly plants, bromeliads, succulents, orchids, and edibles.  Plants that are easy to grow and that attract butterflies and other wildlife will be available.  Master Gardener volunteers will be on hand to assist customers in plant selection.
 “Know and Grow” Free workshops on a variety of gardening interests. It is encouraged to RVSP for the workshops via Event Brite.

This year we will have guided tours of the Demonstration Gardens at 8:00 am, 9:00 am, 10:00 am, 11:00 am and 12:00 noon.  It is encouraged to RVSP for the guided tours of the Demonstration Gardens. This is a great way to see how the mature plant will look in your garden.
Attendants can also visit educational booths, talking to Master Gardeners on a variety of topics. Booth displays include:
* Ask the Expert - answers to your yard concerns 
* Free pH Soil Testing (homeowners can a ½ cup soil sample for pH test),
* Worm Composting
* Rain Barrels (available for purchase)
*“Rusty Gold”, which offers new and gently-used gardening tools, pottery, and fun garden-art for sale.  
*  Children's Activities
* Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ 
From beautiful plants to a day of fun and learning, GardenFest 2019 will be a “must-schedule” event for all gardeners!  
**Master Gardeners are volunteers who work through the Polk County Extension Service, as a public outreach of the University of Florida Institute for Food and Agricultural Services (known as IFAS).  Their purpose is to educate the public, through volunteer services, about horticultural related topics.  Florida scientific research.
