Event Name:
Georgia Vietnam Veterans Certificate of Honor Ceremony
Description
Georgia is home to more than 234,000 Vietnam War veterans. So many were never properly thanked for their service to our country, despite risking their lives on our behalf. In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam war, the Georgia Department of Veterans Services, partnering with the US Department of Defense, has created the Certificate of Honor program to acknowledge and respect the service of each Vietnam veteran.

American Legion Milltown Post 336 will be hosting a certificate ceremony for Vietnam veterans in Lanier County. Post 336 cordially invites all members of our great community to this event to honor our Vietnam veterans for their courageous military service. With this Certificate of Honor program, the State of Georgia is thankful for all who served during the Vietnam era.

On behalf of Post 336 and the entire American Legion Family, welcome home Vietnam veterans!

If you'd like to submit a Vietnam veteran for recognition, please contact Post 336 Commander Lindsay Gutierrez or Adjutant Cliff Hall (milltownlegion@gmail.com) for more information.

Please note: veteran must have been on active duty from 06/01/54 to 05/15/75 to receive this award and did NOT have to be in Vietnam. He or she must have an honorable discharge and, if needed, may be asked to provide a copy of their DD214 or other verifiable documentation to confirm certificate program qualification.
