This FREE educational event provides family caregivers with support and guidance to help them make informed choices on their caregiver journey.
The Benevilla Caregiver Connect event will be Friday October 5th, 2018 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at All Saints of the Desert Episcopal Church, 9502 W. Hutton Drive, Sun City West, AZ, 85351
There will be 2 exciting and informative presentations during the event:
Our first presentation "The Road Map to Navigating Memory Loss" is by Brian Browne from Dementia Care Education.
The second presentation, "Home Safety and Alzheimer's" is by Marty Finley, Sun Health Memory Care Navigator.
Family caregivers have the opportunity to collect free resources from many of our community senior care experts. A Benevilla C.A.R.E.S. Resource Specialist will also be on-site for anyone needing one-on-one support.
At the last event, over 60 local senior services providers were on hand to supply critical caregiver information to the attendees. They also offer expert advice and direction on a myriad of topics including senior living options, home care choices, insurance alternatives, elder law and help with government programs.
Benevilla has been helping family caregivers since 1981 when they started their very first crisis counseling service. “The Benevilla founders were aware that family caregivers were bearing a heavy burden when caring for their ill or incapacitated loved ones while trying to keep themselves healthy” says Benevilla President and CEO, Joanne Thomson. “Today, 30-60% of caregivers pass away from illnesses related to caregiver stress before the person they are caring for. That’s why getting family caregivers support and information is crucial for our aging communities and their families.”
