Greetings from Buckeye Rotary and White Tanks Rotary of Verrado! As historic & very active Rotary Clubs in the West Valley, we are eager to co-host our first scaled up fundraiser for Verrado and Buckeye. The Sizzlin’ Steak Showdown will be November 3, 2018, from 5-9 PM in Verrado at the outdoor Redmond Field, adjacent to Heritage School on Verrado Way. We are seeking cook teams to represent businesses, families, or a group of fun friends. We are also seeking celebrity Chef judges. Can you step up for one of these roles? For an entry fee of $400, cook teams will be provided the space, table name cards, four tickets, an 8 foot table and 20-30 lbs. of ribeye (depending on # of tickets sold) to grill or smoke or sous vide, with each teams’s choice of seasonings. Teams will receive ribeye, cut into one inch thick steaks. The teams will cook the steaks in the manner they choose. The meat will then be cut into one inch cubes and served to the hundreds of attendees who will vote on the fan favorite. The winning People”s Choice Team will receive a perpetual fabulous four foot trophy to be theirs for one year, suitable for display at a place of business and for limitless photo opportunities. The Grand Champion Team will be selected by a Celebrity Chef, also receive a beautiful trophy and be the ultimate winner of the Sizzling Steak Showdown. Attendees will pay an entry fee ($35/adult; $20/child 10 and under) which will entitle them to these mouthwatering flavors from the cook teams as well as accompanying baked potato, salad, bread & dessert. Water will be included and beer and wine will be available for purchase. This fundraiser and our White Tanks Rotary of Verrado is enthusiastic to then financially support three wonderful, local non-profits: • Blue Star Moms; www.bluestarmomsoftheswvalley.org Their mission is to support active duty military and veterans as well as fellow military moms while continually serving in our communities to promote patriotism and foster goodwill. • Youth4Youth; www.youth4youth.org; Their mission is to develop leadership and success skills in youth while giving them the opportunity to make a positive difference in their school, community and beyond. • Meals of Joy; www.sosic.org; Their mission is to deliver fresh, tasty, home-delivered lunches for seniors who are unable to prepare his/her own food, desire convenience or independent living, and for patients recuperating at home, right to their front door. https://www.facebook.com/Sizzlin-STEAK-Showdown-407537813068886/
