Event Name:
The Language of Distressed Behaviors
Description
Distressed behaviors in persons living with dementia have meaning. They serve as a form of communication and often indicate the person is experiencing discomfort in body, mind and/or spirit.  This event will help show how these behaviors may be an expression of unmet needs. It will help identify measures for comfort. It will teach how using a "soft approach" and sensory strategies can help maximize connection and quality of life.
Open to anyone in the community, including family caregivers, RNs, LPNs, administrators, parish nurses, social workers, group home and assisted living providers,
