'Mixed Media Exploration' with Elli and John Milan
Description
Mountain Artists Guild is pleased to offer this action-packed workshop where you can let your creativity take over for all levels of artists. Integrate many types of art materials into two finished oil paintings. You will learn various mixed media techniques, and how to use many different materials such as collage, textures and grounds, spray paint, acrylics and inks, gold leaf, stencils, metallic dry pigment and how to incorporate oil as a finishing layer.

NOTE: The workshop begins on Sept. 14 at 1:30PM and ends at 4PM. On Sept. 15 & 16, the workshop begins at 9AM. All supplies will be provided except for 2 canvases. Students should bring two 18 by 24 inch canvases.
Deciding early to make a career as artists, John and Elli Milan enrolled at Savannah College of Art and Design and later transferred to the University of Georgia where they received their BFAs in painting. Today, they live their dream and the Milan's create their paintings together. This collaboration brings out a side of their work that neither could reach by themselves. The end result is aggressive and spontaneous layers of paint, which create a bright and playful scenario that is interwoven with hints of narrative.
