Memorial Day Observance
Description

Yavapai Cemetery Association presents the annual Memorial Day observance at Citizens Cemetery. The ceremony includes patriotic speeches by local officials and dignitaries; music by Veterans Memorial Piper, High Mountain Chordsmen, and Prescott Brass Ensemble; presentation of flags by Camp Verde Cavalry and Arizona Rough Riders; flag raising, volley and echo taps by American Legion Post 6.

The historic Citizens Cemetery was founded in 1864 and contains the graves of more than 3,500 Yavapai County pioneers. Veterans of numerous wars, including the Civil War, are interred in the cemetery.

No parking will available on the cemetery grounds  -  parking is available at nearby Yavapai College parking lots and surrounding streets. Bring a chair for your own comfort as seating may be limited.Links:
