Details:
Lost In Yonkers, which opened on Broadway in December of 1990 and ran for three years, is set at the beginning of World War II and follows 151/2 year old Jay (Duncan Calhoun) and 13 1/2 Arty ( Asa Cisco Dougherty) who wind up at their grandmother's house while their father Eddie (Ron Bowen) goes away for a year to make extra money in scrap iron.
The boys quickly become witness to an odd family dynamic that includes their Gangster Uncle Louie (J.P. Perpich), childlike Aunt Bella (Executive Director Robyn Allen) as well as their odd-speaking Aunt Gert (Nancy Dunham). However the boy's greatest lessons will come from their hardened grandmother Kurnitz (Louise Von Schill), who at one point Louie describes as having pupils like "two district attorneys".
